A planetary gearbox is a type of mechanical drive with a single output shaft. They are suitable for both clockwise and counterclockwise rotations, have less inertia, and operate at higher speeds. Suitable for counterclockwise and clockwise rotation

Both types of gearboxes are compatible with NEMA servo motors. If torque density is important, a planetary gearbox is the best choice.
